Off-road vehicle crash leaves 1 dead, 1 injured in West Valley

One person is dead and another is in the hospital after an off-road vehicle crashed in the West Valley on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the area of 185th Avenue and Deer Valley Road around 7:08 p.m. after receiving reports that a side-by-side had rolled with two occupants inside, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

One person was pronounced dead while the other was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, MCSO said.

Neither of the individuals were identified.

Detectives are investigating the fatal West Valley crash.
