Phoenix police seek suspect in fatal hit-and-run

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is looking for a suspect who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Friday.

The man who died was identified as 21-year-old Christian Lopez-Kitelinger, according to a Tuesday Phoenix PD announcement.

Police responded to a call about a crash involving a pedestrian before 1 a.m., near the area of 2500 West Grand Avenue, authorities said.

As officers arrived, they found Lopez-Kitelinger suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died two days later from his injuries.

Police learned that Lopez-Kitelinger was walking east on a sidewalk when a driver heading northwest swerved off the street and struck him.

The driver was seen getting out of his car right after the impact but quickly fled heading north westbound on Grand Avenue.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish.

There is a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
