Pedestrian dead after hit-and-run in Phoenix
A pedestrian was killed in a Tuesday night hit-and-run in the area of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road shortly before 10 p.m., authorities said.

A pedestrian was killed in a Tuesday night hit-and-run in Phoenix, authorities said.
Officers responded to reports of a collision in the area of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road shortly before 10 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Officers found the woman unresponsive.
First responders with the Phoenix Fire Department brought the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators believe the woman was walking westbound on McDowell Road using the curb lane when a tan SUV that was also westbound on McDowell Road struck her.
Police said a second vehicle, a white SUV that was also heading west on McDowell Road, struck her.
Both vehicles left the area before police arrived.

The curb lane is the one farthest to the right and closest to the curb. The article above makes it sounds like she was walking right down the roadway instead off to the side or on a sidewalk.
