A fatal collision in Mesa shut down Stapley Drive in both directions Sunday night, authorities said.

The Mesa Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision near Stapley Drive and 7th Avenue.

The road closure was expected for an extended period of time, police said.

There was no other information immediately available.
