Man suffers life-threatening injuries in early-morning shooting in west Phoenix

A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early-morning shooting Monday in west Phoenix.

PHOENIX – A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early-morning shooting Monday in west Phoenix, authorities said.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard in Maryvale Village around 5 a.m. and found one victim, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The man, whose name and age were not released, was rushed to a hospital to be treated for at least one gunshot wound.

Police said to expect the area to be closed for several hours while the scene was under investigation.

As of Monday night, the victim was still in the hospital recovering.

Authorities seek information about early-morning shooting in Phoenix

No other details were immediately available.
