3 men arrested in connection with deadly weekend shooting in Phoenix

Three suspects were arrested Friday in connection with a deadly weekend shooting in Phoenix, authorities announced.

PHOENIX – Three suspects were arrested Friday in connection with a deadly weekend shooting in Phoenix, authorities announced.

The three men — 29-year-old Carlos Perez-Rodas, 33-year-old Nelvin Romero-Alonzo and 20-year-old Kevin Juarez-Rivas – were booked into a Maricopa County jail on one count each of first-degree murder.

They are suspected of killing 32-year-old Eric Gutierrez near Interstate 17 and Buckeye Road on Sunday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. and found Gutierrez suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Phoenix Fire Department responders pronounced him dead.

No details about how police identified and apprehended the suspects were made available.
