PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a crash in Peoria on Friday evening left a woman dead and a man seriously injured, authorities said.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near 85th and Peoria avenues.
Upon arrival, officers found 42-year-old Caitlin Caldwell Lowrey and a man who had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Lowrey was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities believe the vehicle, driven by the man, was traveling eastbound when it failed to make a curve, left the road and rolled over before coming to a stop.
Investigators are determining if impairment or speed was a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
