South Phoenix crash leaves 1 man dead
A man has died after a single-vehicle crash in south Phoenix on Monday, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man has died after a single-vehicle crash in south Phoenix on Monday, authorities said.
At around 12:45 a.m., police responded to a crash near Seventh Avenue and Watkins Street. Upon arrival, police found a vehicle had crashed into a utility pole and discovered a man lying nearby with injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
Authorities said the man was heading southbound on Seventh Avenue when he lost control and collided with the utility pole. Authorities added the man’s vehicle was possibly traveling at high speed and he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The victim was identified later as 29-year-old Carlos Beltran.
The investigation remains ongoing. No other information was made available.
