ComicX liquidation auction offers commercial kitchen tools, nifty pop culture memorabilia

PHOENIX — ComicX Phoenix shuttered its Desert Ridge Marketplace doors on Sunday, but if you are in the market for any of the memorabilia that adorned the restaurant’s walls, you’re in luck.

Everything — yes even the kitchen sink and the life-size R2-D2 statue — is up for public auction.

Among the assorted assets that are being liquidated before the property returns to the landlord are items like life-size statues of Spider-Man, Batman, Yoda and various decorations ranging from Star Wars art to a life-size replica of The Simpsons family sitting on their iconic couch.

Potential buyers can also auction on dozens of comic books, figurines and — for fans of 1990s basketball — an NBA Jam countertop arcade game.

Of course, there is also the full array of commercial kitchen appliances, tables, booths and chairs.

When is the ComicX auction?

The auction is active now and is scheduled to end on Tuesday.

All purchased items must be dissembled and removed from the restaurant in North Phoenix by the buyer either Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Thursday during the same timeframe. Purchased items must be picked up during the window and will be considered forfeited and given no refund if not picked up.

Anyone picking up won items will be required to sign a liability form, according to the auction website.

There is an inspection time set for Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All items are bid on in their as-in condition.
