Child hospitalized after collision with vehicle in Phoenix
A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Phoenix on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Phoenix on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The child, as well as an adult woman, were injured after a collision in the area of 48th Street and McDowell Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Officers responded to the area shortly after 11:30 a.m. They found the child, woman and the driver of the vehicle, who stayed on the scene.
Although the child was brought to the hospital in serious condition, the woman was evaluated by the fire department on scene and found to be alert, police said.
According to Phoenix police, the area was still closed as of 5:30 p.m. while detectives investigated the incident.
No further details were made available.
Last week, three people, including a young child, were hospitalized after a fiery crash at an east Phoenix intersection.
