AZ Political Podcast: Matt Salmon on potential impact of Trump’s massive bill with tax cuts

If you have any stressful life events going on right now, you may want to skip this week’s AZ Political Podcast. While I’m sure my bosses hate that I’m saying this, I am doing so to save lives.

This podcast might need an FDA-style warning. What former Republican U.S. Congressman Matt Salmon has to say about the passage of President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” — and what it means for America’s fiscal future — could sink you into some serious depression.

Then again, it could have the effect of motivating you to get involved.

Or … less involved, because when Matt lets loose with how he feels about both political parties (including his own party’s uber Trump-centric stance), you’ll understand why he had to leave politics: self-preservation.

Okay, maybe Matt Salmon’s appearance on the AZ Political Podcast isn’t that depressing. While I did struggle to find an upbeat note to end the podcast on, it’s hard to stay sad around such a kind, generous, generally positive guy.

But he couldn’t stick around all day buoying my mood, so he had to eventually leave the KTAR studios. And when he did, I Googled a therapist.
