On Sunday night, legendary singer Celine Dion received the Billboard Icon Award in recognition of her stellar career. Before receiving the award, Dion covered Queen’s hit “The Show Must Go On” in honor of her beloved husband, who passed away earlier this year. She was backed by singers, an orchestra and one of Arizona’s own, violinist Lindsey Stirling. During the song, Dion points to Stirling, who performed on a smaller, separate stage placed in the midst of the crowd. Stirling played a creative solo before joining the orchestra for the culmination of the song. Prior to Sunday, Stirling had teased that she would perform during the show, but did not give away any details.

After the show, Dion and Stirling were photographed together on the red carpet.
But Dion wasn’t the only music legend Stirling rubbed elbows with on Sunday.

Not bad for a girl who grew up in Gilbert.
