Arizona Mills to open $12 million Lego attraction

PHOENIX — Ever wonder what $12 million worth of Lego blocks looks like?

The Arizona Mills mall in Tempe is set to construct a $12 million Lego attraction called the Legoland Discovery Center, Phoenix Business Journal reported.

Specifically designed for children aged 3 to 10, the highly-interactive attraction will feature:

  • • Lego play areas, including a brick pool
  • • Master classes from the Lego Master Model Builder
  • • A Lego ride
  • • Rooms specifically for birthday parties and other events
  • • A 4D cinema
  • • A Miniland exhibit, featuring Lego replicas of various Arizona landmarks

“We have an excellent working relationship with Merlin (Entertainment) at many of our properties and are very pleased to welcome LEGOLAND Discovery Center, their best global brand, to Arizona Mills,” Arizona Mills President Gregg Goodman said in the press release.

Merlin Entertainments plc, the company also behind Sea Life Aquarium at Arizona Mills, said the attraction is planned to open late Spring 2016.
