Arizona man sentenced to 10 years in prison for intent to distribute drugs

PHOENIX — An Arizona man was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week for intent to traffic drugs, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Sergio Ramos Humberto, 73, previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

He admitted that he was paid to keep the drugs at a trucking yard he maintained near Nogales, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

Ramos admitted that he kept the drugs stored for someone else to transport, prosecutors said.

The prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces Strike Force Initiative. The strike force allows for agents from different agencies to collaborate on operations related to drug trafficking, money laundering and gang activity.
