PHOENIX – An arrest has been made following a fatal shooting in Mesa, authorities announced on Monday.

Mesa police arrested Jason Greene, 51, for allegedly shooting 41-year-old Charles McClellan on Sunday night.

Around 8 p.m., officers responded to several reports of disturbances and shots fired near Greenfield Road and Adobe Street.

At the scene, Mesa police made contact with Greene who told officers he had shot a man inside his home.

The victim was located inside the home and was pronounced dead at the scene. Mesa police have not released the name of the victim.

Greene was booked into jail on one count of manslaughter.

No other information was made available.

The case is an ongoing investigation.
