Arizona Lottery celebrating 45th anniversary by adding $4.5M to The Pick jackpot

The Arizona Lottery is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a multi-million-dollar jackpot boost and a massive overhaul of its daily game lineup.

State lottery officials announced that $4.5 million will be added directly to The Pick jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing. The one-time cash infusion marks the biggest upgrade to Arizona’s flagship draw game since its launch in 1984.

The anniversary milestone coincides with a sweeping rollout of new and updated draw games that launched Sunday, featuring improved odds, extra daily drawings and new ways to win.

“For 45 years, Arizona Lottery players have been at the heart of our mission,” Arizona Lottery Executive Director Alec Thomson said in a release. “This $4.5 million jackpot boost is our way of saying thank you and offer players a chance to celebrate 45 years of investing in a stronger Arizona.”

The flagship game, The Pick, now costs $2 per play but features improved overall odds of 1 in 30. It also includes a new built-in multiplier that can increase non-jackpot prizes by up to five times.

Lottery officials are also introducing “The Pick Plus,” a $1 add-on game printed on a separate ticket that gives players a chance to win immediate cash prizes.

Which other Arizona Lottery games are changing?

Several other daily draw games are seeing significant expansions:

Pick 3: The game is adding a midday drawing at 12:05 p.m. in addition to its traditional 7:05 p.m. drawing time.

Pick 4: A brand new $1 daily game is joining the lineup. Players select four numbers between zero and nine, with drawings held twice daily at 12:05 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. Play options include straight, box, straight/box, front pair, mid pair and back pair.

Powerball Double Play: Arizona players can now pay an extra $1 to enter their Powerball numbers into a secondary drawing held immediately after the main drawing. The Double Play feature offers a top prize of $10 million, with secondary prizes ranging from $7 to $500,000.
