PHOENIX – Furry friends and football, could there be a better combo? The Arizona Humane Society is answering that question by partnering with the Arizona Cardinals to tackle pet adoptions for cats and dogs.

The first “K9 and Kitty Kickoff” event will allow adoptable pets a chance to find a home.

The event will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the AHS’s Papago Park Campus located at 5501 E Van Buren St. in Phoenix. Along with pet adoptions, fans can take photos with the Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

It will pay off to be a Cards fan since anyone wearing Cardinals gear at any of the AHS’s adoption locations will receive a free adoption fee for the pet of their choice.

The event is part of the Cardinals 12 day-long fan fest celebrating the start of the football seasons and the teams first home game on Sunday.

We want to hear from you.
