Arizona Department of Transportation debuts 5 new specialty license plates

PHOENIX — Drivers have more options when it comes to specialty license plates after five new ones were debuted Monday by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Arizonans can now purchase plates supporting Alzheimer’s awareness, Habitat for Humanity and the Fiesta Bowl.

Plates for recipients of the Distinguished Flying Cross and share the road, which promotes road safety and awareness for cyclists and runners, are also now available.

Most of the fees from the $25 annual cost of the specialty plates — $17 — go to support the selected program on the plate.

With the addition of the new specialty plates, Arizona drivers can choose from more than 70 plates.

ADOT in July announced $11.4 million in sales of specialty plates for the 2020 fiscal year, topping the 2019 record of $11.2 million.

Residents can choose from a selection of specialty licenses plates on Service Arizona’s website.
