Armed man dead after shooting involving Apache Junction police
A man died in a Saturday night shooting involving police after Apache Junction officers responded to a disturbance, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man died in a Saturday night shooting that involved Apache Junction police officers, authorities said.
Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to a domestic disturbance where a caller reported a woman yelling, according to the Apache Junction Police Department.
The woman had left a home with a man near Shiprock Street and Main Drive and returned a short time later. Officers located the vehicle that was described at the home, where contact with an armed man occurred.
Officers then fired shots, killing the man.
None of the officers involved were injured, authorities said.
“Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those affected by this incident,” the Apache Junction PD said on social media.
The Mesa Police Department is investigating the shooting.
No other information was provided.
