MCSO arrests woman accused of abusing multiple animals in Litchfield Park

PHOENIX — A woman suspected of abusing multiple animals in Litchfield Park was arrested on Tuesday, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Julie Dimick, 67, was taken into custody in connection to the rescue of 12 animals found living in “deplorable conditions” earlier this month.

The July 14 rescue took place after authorities responded to a call at a house near Maryland Avenue and 136th Drive over reports of animal cruelty.

She is facing 11 counts of abandonment and 11 counts of failure to provide medical treatment, MCSO said.

Deputies with the animal crimes unit found one dead cat, as well as one surviving cat and 11 living dogs in the Litchfield Park home.

The animals were living in a house with no air conditioning and other poor living conditions, MCSO said.

At the time, a social media post from MCSO said the animals were safe and receiving medical care.
