Powerball ticket worth $50,000 sold at East Valley gas station

One lucky person in Mesa became $50,000 richer after winning big in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.

PHOENIX — An East Valley lottery player is now $50,000 richer after Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at the QuikTrip gas station near Elliot and Ellsworth roads in Mesa, according to the Arizona Lottery.

It matched four of the five white balls — 18, 37, 52, 54, 60 — plus the red Powerball, 12, to win the prize.

The odds of winning the $50,000 prize in the Powerball drawing are 1 in 913,129.

The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings.

Six people nationwide won the $50,000 prize in Wednesday’s drawing.

This was the second time over the past week that a Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Mesa.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

Powerball is a nationwide game of chance with drawings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights.

The estimated jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is $321 million.

Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at more than 3,000 locations statewide.
