PHOENIX — There were more arrests and ejections at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open than in the previous year, but police say that was expected.

“As part of the overall stakeholder planning for the 2025 event, a concerted effort was placed on identifying and addressing behavior that both fell outside an appropriate level of conduct for the event and outside the law,” the Scottsdale Police Department said in a press release.

How many arrests, ejections were there at 2025 WM Phoenix Open?

Police conducted 1,011 calls for service at the four-day event that ran from Feb. 6 to Feb. 9. As a result, there were 63 arrests, 319 ejections and 114 trespassers.

During the troubled 2024 tournament, there were 54 arrests, 211 ejections and 73 trespassers that came from 653 service calls.

Rainy weather and crowd control — officials had to temporarily close the gates and limited alcohol consumption on the Saturday of the tournament — gave the 2024 tournament a unique feel.

The annual tournament was won by Thomas Detry, his first PGA TOUR victory.
