PHOENIX – A toddler boy pulled unconscious from the bottom of a pool in a Mesa back yard Wednesday died, authorities said.
Police said in an email that family members got the child out of the water at a home near near Lindsay and Brown roads around 5:30 p.m. None were sure how long the 2-year-old had been in the pool.
First responders resuscitated the boy then rushed him to Banner Desert Medical Center.
After an early hopeful prognosis, the child was pronounced dead hours later.
Mesa homicide detectives were conducting the investigation, police spokesman Jason Flam said, but added it was procedure and they had seen nothing suspicious at the home.
