PHOENIX — Two 15-year-old boys died in a murder-suicide in a remote Arizona area on Saturday night, authorities said.

Deputies responded to a report that two teens had been shot in Tonto Basin, about 90 miles northeast of downtown Phoenix, around 11 p.m., according to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).

The two boys were found with gunshot wounds to the head, GCSO added.

One of the boys was still breathing and was flown to a trauma center in Phoenix. That child was pronounced dead the next day.

An investigation into the incident is underway.

No other information was available.
