1-year-old hospitalized after being pulled from west Phoenix pool

A one-year-old child was pulled from a pool after being underwater for an unknown amount of time Saturday afternoon in west Phoenix, authorities said.

A one-year-old child was pulled from a pool after being underwater for an unknown amount of time Saturday afternoon in west Phoenix, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to reports of a drowning in the area of Lower Buckeye Road and 91st Avenue around 1:15 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Upon arrival, the toddler had been pulled from the pool and was awake and crying. The one-year-old was transported to the hospital in stable condition for further evaluation, authorities said.
