1 dead, 2 hospitalized after rollover crash on US 60 in Mesa

PHOENIX — A person is dead and two more people are in the hospital after a rollover crash on the US 60 in Mesa on Friday morning, authorities said.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on eastbound US 60 between Signal Butte and Meridian roads around 5:11 a.m.

DPS said that a 1999 maroon Chevrolet SUV rolled off the roadway for an unknown reason.

Two of the vehicle occupants were taken to a nearby hospital for the injuries they sustained in the crash. Meanwhile, another was partially ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Eastbound US 60 was temporarily closed following the fatal Mesa crash, but has since reopened, according to DPS.
