PHOENIX – If you see what appears to be emergency activity at Phoenix Children’s medical facilities in the West Valley on Wednesday, don’t worry. It’s only a drill.

Authorities are conducting full-scale emergency preparedness exercises at the Arrowhead campus at 67th Avenue and Union Hills Drive in Glendale and the Avondale campus on Avondale Boulevard and McDowell Road.

The drills give cities and emergency teams a chance to test evacuation routes, communication systems and public safety protocols.
