Discount outdoor goods store Sierra to open 1st Arizona store in West Valley
Sierra will open its first Arizona location on Saturday with a grand opening celebration featuring a DJ and a chance for shoppers to win a gift card.
PHOENIX — Discount outdoor gear and apparel retailer Sierra is expanding into Arizona and opening its first location this weekend.
The 19,000-square-foot store will open at 8 a.m. Saturday at Prasada North, which is located near Loop 303 and Waddell Road in Surprise.
A grand opening celebration will be held at the newly built store. It will include music from a DJ, branded giveaways and a hidden tag activity where shoppers can win a gift card.
“We are excited to join Surprise ahead of the holiday season and help residents take advantage of Sierra’s savings, making their celebrations, gift shopping, and seasonal adventures easier, more enjoyable, and stress-free,” Sierra Assistant Vice President and Marketing Director Amanda Johnson said in a press release Tuesday.
As part of the grand opening, Sierra will make a $10,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, which will be used to provide one-on-one mentorship for Valley kids.
Following the opening, Sierra will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The store, which is owned by multinational discount apparel retailer The TJX Companies, Inc., is hiring for multiple positions. Applications can be found at jobs.tjx.com.
