On Wednesday, club members can attend a sneak preview event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to getting an early look at the club, attendees can get food from the Member’s Mark food truck and participate in other activities.

The next day, the venue will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks from local officials at 8 a.m. The store will open for business after the ceremony.

What can shoppers find at Tempe’s first Sam’s Club?

Sam’s Club is a membership-only retailer owned by Walmart that sells groceries, home décor, furniture, electronics, health and wellness items and household essentials.

Discounted memberships are being offered as part of the Tempe grand opening.

The new 155,000-square-foot club features Scan & Go technology that allows shoppers to skip checkout lines. It also boasts the company’s largest fulfillment center to make curbside pickup and delivery service more efficient.

The Tempe Sam’s Club also has a fuel station that opened in June.
