Construction underway on multiroom nightclub in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — Construction is underway at Pablo’s, a Mexican-influenced nightclub destination in downtown Phoenix, and it is expected to open later this year.

The 9,000-square-foot club, which is situated at McKinley Street and First Avenue, will feature multiple rooms that have “distinct environments that shift in mood, material and energy,” according to a press release.

Guests will see an open front patio as they come onto the property before the inside transitions into a glowing atmosphere with “a skull-lined wall” that reflects the club’s logo.

The main room, Pablo’s Living Room, has the clearest display of the skull theme and a centrally located bar.

The Den flows out of that area with a “velvet conversation pit” and mirrored ceiling with a chandelier.

For those interested in a friendly game, the Billiards Room contains several pool tables and sets of dominoes. Its walls have imagery of lucha libre, or Mexican professional wrestling.

Then, the Night Tiger room is the darkest setting, where a DJ will play tunes for a dance floor under a glowing ceiling.

Saguaro Night Entertainment Group is creating the project.

“Pablo’s is all about creating a sense of discovery with spaces that surprise you, pull you in and make you want to stay longer than planned,” Cary Prewitt, managing partner of Saguaro Nights, said. “Seeing this vision start to take physical shape reinforces our goal of bringing a nightlife experience to downtown Phoenix that feels layered, transportive and distinctly our own.”

LGE Design Build is overseeing the club’s construction in Phoenix, and Barter & Shake Creative Hospitality is leading the creation of its cocktail menu.
