Cox, one of Arizona’s biggest internet and cable providers, is now part of Spectrum.

Charter Communications, the company behind the Spectrum brand, completed its purchase of Cox Communications on Thursday, creating one of the largest internet and cable providers in the country.

The new company will offer services to more than 70 million homes across 45 states, according to the company.

“For generations, my family has believed in building businesses that matter and stand the test of time,” Cox Enterprise CEO and new Charter board Chairman Alex Taylor said in the news release. “The broadband industry has shaped how people live, work and connect with one another, and we believe deeply in its future.”

What Cox customers can expect next month

In mid-September, Spectrum plans to launch its entire suite of products to all consumers, including existing customers, in former Cox markets. That means Spectrum’s pricing, packages and branding will replace what Cox customers have now.

Spectrum is offering a free year of mobile service to Cox internet customers who don’t already subscribe to Cox Mobile.

The company also promised service upgrades for former Cox customers within the next year, including a 100% U.S.-based customer service team available 24/7, same-day technician visits when requested before 5 p.m., and bill credits for outages lasting longer than two hours.
