Chemical manufacturer buys Tempe industrial facility for $6.1 million

North Metal & Chemical Co. has purchased an industrial facility in Tempe for $6.1 million.

The York, Pennsylvania-based chemical company bought the 25,807-square-foot property near Apache Boulevard and Price Road as part of what it calls an expansion into the Phoenix market.

The company is relocating from a smaller leased facility in Queen Creek to the Tempe site, which offers more space in a more centrally located warehouse.

The property features two office areas, 18-foot clear height warehouse space, two truck-well loading doors, two grade-level doors and a private fenced yard.

“Industrial opportunities of this caliber in Tempe remain highly sought after, making this an excellent fit for their next phase of growth,” Matt Leonard, the LevRose Commercial Real Estate partner who represented the buyer said in a news release about the sale.

Founded in 1921 and headquartered in York, Pennsylvania, North Metal & Chemical is a family-owned company that makes chemicals used in water treatment, agriculture and industrial products.
