It’s back: Mixed-use restaurant announces new location in Chandler, Ariz. after delays

PHOENIX — After a long-winded battle with development that caused delays over several years, a mixed-use restaurant is slated to open at a new location in Chandler, Arizona, according to Franchising.com.

Alamo Drafthouse, a Texas-based theater and bar that was originally planned to be developed in downtown Chandler in 2014 as part of the Vintage Partners project, will officially be opening in the mixed-use Chandler Crossings project.

The Drafthouse is a 9-screen movie theater, bar and restaurant designed to entertain guests with first-run movies, independent films and special events while offering a made-from-scratch menu.

The former development was also supposed to house The Vig, La Bocca and Modern Margarita. It was delayed first last October due to development issues before announcements confirmed the restaurant would no longer open in the area.

Craig Paschich, partner at Paschich Alamo Holdings LLC, said he always wanted the City of Chandler to house the first Alamo Drafthouse location in Arizona.

“I wanted this to be my neighborhood theater that I can share with the community,” he said in an interview with Franchise.com. “I also wanted it to be close so I can be there as often as possible and meet as many people as possible.”

The theater is expected to open in 2016.
