Feb 26, 2014, 10:48 AM | Updated: 11:36 am

PHOENIX — Thursday brought some very good news for Chicago natives in the Valley, those from the Midwest or anyone familiar with good pizza.

Chicago pizza joint Giordano’s food truck will be in the Valley during the opening weekend of spring training handing out free slices of its world-famous pizza.

The truck will be parked near the new Cubs Park in Mesa to welcome the team to its new spring training home. It’s expected to be parked outside on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday around 1 p.m.

Giordano’s said the 28-foot-long truck had never left Illinois before making the 1,700-mile trip to the Valley.

We want to hear from you.
