Report: Gabrielle Giffords, Mark Kelly to be present at Loughner sentencing

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, will be present at the sentencing of Jared Loughner on Thursday, a report said.

In a release, ABC News reported that Kelly will make a short statement on Giffords’ behalf during the hearing.

Loughner is accused of killing six and wounding 13, including Giffords, during a shooting in Tucson, Ariz. in 2011 while Giffords was making a political appearance.

The hearing will be the first time since the shooting that Giffords and Loughner will see each other in person.
