4 people in critical condition after crash in west Phoenix

Four people were taken to the hospital in critical condition after a crash in west Phoenix Friday night, authorities said.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash involving multiple people at about 9 p.m. near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Firefighters found five people injured when they arrived. Two men and two women were transported to a hospital as ‘immediate patients in critical condition,'” Phoenix Fire said.

A teenage boy was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Witnesses saw one vehicle make a left turn onto northbound 59th Avenue from Thomas Road and collide with a vehicle driving westbound on Thomas Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
