As temperatures begin to drop across the state, Arizonans are seeing a break at the pump as gas prices have dropped over the past week.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the Grand Canyon State has dropped 11 cents from $4.66 last week to $4.55. AAA said the price drop is partly because of the transition to winter-blend gasoline, which is cheaper to produce.

As of Saturday, the average for Arizona this month is $4.52 per gallon. The average gas price in Arizona in October 2025 was $3.36 per gallon.

How do Arizona’s gas prices compare to the rest of the nation?

Despite the drop, gas prices in Arizona continue to be above the national average of $4.27 per gallon.

Arizona ranks as the 10th most expensive state for gas at $4.55 per gallon. California ($6.23) is the most expensive state in the nation, while Hawaii ($5.63), Washington ($5.42), Nevada ($5.42) and Oregon ($4.97) round out the top five.

North Carolina is the least expensive state at $3.70 per gallon.

10 cents lower doesn't help - $1.10 might make a good start.

Waiting for MAGAville to chime in with "See? Trump is lowering gas prices!" while ignoring that the winter blend gas is cheaper and consumer demand drops in the Fall due to less driving. All the while crude prices are up over fears of the OJ escalating his dubious war with Iran.
