Consumer sentiment continues to slide in the Valley and in most of the country as gasoline — particularly diesel fuel — remains expensive and mortgage rates climb.

The latest Metropolitan Consumer Sentiment Index, a monthly index published by American City Business Journals in partnership with Morning Consult, showed that consumer sentiment slipped in 78 of the 106 metro areas nationwide in September compared to the month prior. Morning Consult’s national Index of Consumer Sentiment also declined from August to September, sliding 2.36 points to 87.6.

The research is based on thousands of daily surveys. A score of more than 100 indicates overall positive economic sentiment. None of the markets tracked posted a score above 100 in September.
The lowest overall consumer sentiment in the country can be found in Arizona. Tucson’s score was 69.41 in September. The southern Arizona city’s score was more than four full points lower than the second lowest, Des Moines, Iowa, at 73.45.

America, her citizens and the planet are all still better off versus where we were with incompetent disaster Joe and his failed administration in the WH.
