One person died, and another person was taken to the hospital after a T-bone crash in Sun City on Saturday, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the area of Del Webb Boulevard and Bell Road around 1 p.m. for reports of an accident with injuries, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were advised by dispatch that a pickup truck had been T-boned by another vehicle, and the person inside the truck was non-responsive and bleeding.

Sun City Fire and Medical Department personnel and MCSO deputies arrived to the scene, got the driver out of the truck and attempted life-saving measures, authorities said.

Despite their efforts, the driver was declared dead at the scene, and the driver of the other vehicle was transported to Banner Boswell Hospital, conscious and with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is not known at this time if speed and alcohol were factors in the collision, authorities said. MCSO traffic investigators have taken over the investigation.
