Investigators searching for suspect in deadly Phoenix hit-and-run incident

Authorities are looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run that left a 53-year-old woman dead in Phoenix on Monday evening.

Police and fire personnel were called to a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Indian School Road near the Interstate 17 overpass around 7 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

When they arrived at the scene, they found Jana Stovall and took her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Preliminary information indicated that a car driving westbound struck Stovall while she was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk before fleeing.
