A 22-year-old man is dead after a three-vehicle crash in west Phoenix on Saturday evening, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased man as Kevin Lyman.

Officers responded to the area of 35th and Glendale avenues just before 5 p.m. for the crash and found a BMW Sedan, Toyota Camry and Kia Sedan involved.

Lyman, who was driving the BMW, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the KIA was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman and two children were inside the Toyota, but were not seriously injured.

Preliminary information indicated that Lyman hit the Toyota as it was exiting a private drive while driving westbound on Glendale Avenue at a high rate of speed. This caused the Toyota to spin into the eastbound lanes of Glendale Avenue, where it hit the KIA.

Neither the driver of the Toyota nor KIA showed signs of impairment.

The investigation into the fatal west Phoenix crash is ongoing.
