Multiple runners were treated for heat-related illness at a high school cross-country meet in Chandler on Saturday morning, authorities said.
Fire crews were called around 9:25 a.m. to a park for multiple patients participating in the 32nd Annual Chandler XC Invite at Tumbleweed Park, according to the Chandler Fire Department.
Two participants showed signs of heat-related illness and were taken to a nearby hospital after being treated at the scene.
There were three other people who were evaluated and then released.
No other information was provided.
