Taylor Swift tickets part of lavish lifestyle funded by Scottsdale man’s $10.7M theft

A Scottsdale man was sentenced Monday to more than six years in federal prison for embezzling $10.7 million from his employer over 17 years.

Mark Latham, 61, worked as finance director for Performance Software, an Arizona-based software and hardware development company, a role that gave him access to the company’s bank accounts and accounting system.

According to court documents, he used $10.7 million in company funds to pay off his personal credit card over nearly 16 years, from March 2009 to January 2025.

Prosecutors said Latham spent the stolen money on a lavish lifestyle that included $39,000 for Super Bowl 57 tickets in 2023 and another $38,000 for NFL season tickets. Court records don’t say which team he supported. Latham spent another $29,731 to see Taylor Swift in her Eras tour, buying concert tickets in 2023 and again in 2024. He spent another $28,000 on a golf simulator, according to prosecutors.

Latham pleaded guilty in May to one count of wire fraud and has to pay back the $10.7 million.

Prosecutors said Latham concealed the theft by editing the company’s bank statements to remove payments to himself.

Latham is scheduled to turn himself in to the Bureau of Prisons in October.
