Boating accident on Lake Powell in northern Arizona leaves child dead
The child fell from the bow of the boat before being struck by it, Coconino County Sheriff's Office deputies said.

A child is dead after being struck by a boat on Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area on Thursday, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the incident just after noon. They were told that the child fell from the bow of the boat before being struck by it, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.
However, National Park Service rangers arrived at the scene first and provided medical aid to the child. They then took the child to Antelope Marina where they were met by the City of Page Fire Department.
The child was taken to Page Hospital by Intermountain Health Air Medical, where they died from their injuries.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the child.
