SAFE Alert issued for missing nonverbal 23-year-old man last seen near Camelback Road

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Friday for a nonverbal 23-year-old man who went missing in Phoenix.

Payden Deontae Simmons was last seen Thursday in the area of North 75th Avenue and Camelback Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Simmons is described 6 feet tall and 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Police said he was last seen wearing a tan jacket, a gray shirt with an unknown graphic design, gray cut-off Hollister shorts and white Reebok slides.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department Missing Persons Unit at 602-534-2121.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
