76-year-old woman killed in Glendale house fire identified; husband remains hospitalized

A 76-year-old woman who died after a Glendale house fire Sunday has been identified, and her husband remains hospitalized after inhaling smoke, authorities said Monday.

Serlina Yuk-King Yee was pulled from the burning home near Peoria and 63rd avenues around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Glendale police. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her husband, whose name was not released, remained hospitalized Monday, according to Glendale Police spokesman Jose Santiago.

“This is not being treated as a homicide but as an accidental death,” Santiago said in a Monday morning update.

KTAR News 92.3 FM reached out to the Glendale Fire Department to ask whether the cause of the fire had been determined but did not receive an update.
