Rangers ask public for help in Grand Canyon missing person investigation

PHOENIX — National Park Service rangers are looking for help finding a 26-year-old missing person who disappeared at Grand Canyon National Park.

Sandarsh Krishna was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities described Krishna as 5-foot-10 with a thin build, weighing about 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing athletic clothing and is believed to be in possession of a black backpack before his disappearance, authorities said.

The black backpack was turned in to hotel personnel at Bright Angel Lodge at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

Investigators are asking anyone who has seen the individual who turned the backpack in to let them know as soon as possible. They are not considered a suspect but could have vital information.
