PHOENIX – Two very different Valley ZIP codes are among the nation’s hottest areas when it comes to moving activity, according to a recent report.

The ZIP codes of 85387 in Surprise and 85054 in north Phoenix grabbed positions in the top 10 of MovingPlace’s Hottest ZIP Codes Report for March 2026.

The online moving marketplace’s monthly report ranks postal zones based on total move volume — inbound and outbound — per capita.

What are the hot Valley ZIP codes for moving?

The 85387 ZIP code checked in at No. 5. It covers a chunk of Surprise northwest of Loop 303, including the Dove Valley and Mesquite Mountain Ranch areas.

That part of the West Valley is attractive for its new home affordability and relatively manageable commute to the TSMC Arizona chipmaking campus in north Phoenix, according to Tina Tamboer, senior housing analyst for The Cromford Report.

“That Surprise area is hot, hot, hot for first-time homebuyer price ranges in the single-family range,” Tamboer told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News, noting that houses can be found there in the $300,000s and $400,000s.

Further east, the 85054 ZIP code was ranked ninth on MovingPlace’s March list. It covers an area from just south of the Loop 101 Pima Freeway to Pinnacle Peak Road between Tatum Boulevard and Scottsdale Road.

It’s costlier than the hot Surprise area with a median price of $600,000, Tamboer said, but offers many attractive amenities, including Desert Ridge Marketplace.

“You’ve got some new home options in there. You’ve got some condo options that are in the $400s, and you also have a decent amount of growth in the medical industry with the Mayo Clinic expanding, and so on. So, that whole North 101 area is just doing extremely well right now for real estate,” she said.

ZIP code 37228 in Nashville, Tennessee has the No. 1 spot on the March hot list, followed by 75114 in Crandall, Texas, at No. 2 and 95969 in Paradise, California, at No. 3.
