3 cats dead, 2 people displaced as result of house fire in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A house fire in Phoenix that took the lives of three cats on Sunday will leave a family of two displaced, authorities said.

Firefighters responded around 11 a.m. near 19th and Glendale avenues for reports of the fire. They found smoke coming from inside the home.

Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department attacked the blaze from multiple angles, including from the roof to further vent out the home.

A community assistance program is assisting with the two displaced people in the wake of the home’s damages and the cats’ deaths.

No firefighters were injured.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
