14 names added to Arizona Fallen Firefighter Memorial in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX – Fourteen names were added to the Arizona Fallen Firefighter Memorial in downtown Phoenix over the weekend.

The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona (PFFA) unveiled the the updated memorial wall during a ceremony Sunday at Wesley Bolin Plaza near the Arizona State Capitol.

Fire service personnel, family members and community supporters from around the state attended the annual event.

“This memorial is one of the most important moments of the year for the Arizona fire service,” PFFA President Dan Freiberg said in a press release. “We come together to honor the bravery and selflessness of those we have lost, to support their families and to ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.”

The Arizona Fallen Firefighter Memorial recognizes the service, sacrifice and legacy of firefighters and paramedics who died in the line of duty dating back to 1902. It now has 181 names.

Whose names were added to the Arizona Fallen Firefighter Memorial?

Occupational cancer was the cause of death for more than half of this year’s honorees.

• Don E. Williams, Phoenix Fire Department, 2024, cancer
• Shane J. Gage, Copper Canyon Fire and Medical District, 2024, cause not publicly stated
• Scott Leatham, Tempe Fire Medical Rescue, 2024, occupational cancer
• Anthony Mock, Phoenix Fire Department, 2025, occupational cancer
• Patrick F. Quinn, Tucson Fire Department, 2025, brain cancer
• Mark Keller, Mesa Fire Department, 2025, medical emergency/cardiac incident
• Brenna Kulikowski, Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District, 2025, ambulance crash
